Food That Has An Unlimited (Or Long-Term) Shelf Life

Many people buy a lot of food and store it for “black days” and emergencies. In this case, the shelf life of the products is especially important. Although the canned food takes a long time, if you really want foods that are long-lasting, follow the list of foods that have unlimited (or long-term) shelf life.

  1. Rice

Studies have shown that white rice retains its nutrients and taste for up to 30 years if stored at a temperature below 4 degrees Celsius and in a closed container. Brown rice does not last as long as white – it can withstand up to 6 months because of the natural oils that contain the brown layer.

  1. Honey

Honey is considered to be the only food that has an endless shelf life thanks to the ingredients and work of valuable bees. Honey is naturally acidic and has a pH between 3 and 4.5 that is enough to kill almost everything that can be created in it. Also, the stomach bee has a special enzyme that mixes with nectar and breaks it into gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide – which helps fight harmful things that would appear in the honey. As long as the cap is in place and you do not add water, the honey will never be spoiled.

  1. Soy sauce

Studies have suggested that the soybean time of the soybean depends on which additives the manufacturer uses, but if left uninhabited it can last for a very long time. Even if it is open, it may take several years in your refrigerator.

  1. Dry legumes

Beans, lentils, green beans, soy and other legumes, if dry, will be good for eating for up to 30 years. Studies have shown that proteins remain stable over time.

  1. Maple syrup

Pure maple syrup has an unlimited shelf life due to the resistance to microbial development, including the mold. Unopened maple syrup will last indefinitely.
